Yea it’s April and swimsuit season is vastly approaching, so if you’re anything like me then we both need a quick refresher button on your body goals I’m here to help us through out the way! Let’s set some ground rules together to help us stay in our 2018 body goals.
- Put on Something cute
This may sound a little crazy but when you look good you feel good. And the added bonus of putting on really cute exercise clothes is that can motivate you to actually workout. Think baby steps!
Step one- put on cute gym clothe (with intentions to workout)
Step two- Drive to gym
Step three- Workout
It may sound crazy but trust me step one is half of the battle
- Don’t be lazy
Literally stop taking the easy and quick way out. Little things like not taking that parking spot right by the front of the store, or taking the stairs instead of the elevator or even take a walk on your break. What ever it may be just make those small switches wherever you can.
- Your diet- or lack thereof
Ever heard “you are what you eat”? It’s cliché but so very true. Food is literally my biggest weakness! With no food allergies or food restrictions all I see is new and experienced culinary adventures. Which is such a blessing and a curse. But if your anything like me, the feelings I have for food aren’t mutual. So something’s I’ve tried to implements is what I call balance. I try every effort to swap out the high calories and carb items to lower calories comparable like instead of typical carby spaghetti pasta switch to spaghetti squash. Or instead of chips and dip try hummus with vegetables. It requires a bit of more effort and typically has a tradeoff of a little more time and or a more money, but if it keeps your body goals on track it’s totally worth it. But if you are in those times when you just have to have that slice of pizza or mac and cheese, then go for it just make sure it’s in moderation! Don’t go crazy; control your portion sizes because that’s actually extremely important. If you slip up like we all do from time to time then balance it out by spending more time moving and burning those extra calories.
- Find an Activity
I love random activities where I don’t know I’m exercising or even on a nice day going to take a walk with a friends and just chatting it up. Or heading to the park with my bf to attempt tennis, whatever works to take my mind off I try.
- The obvious
Well this kinda goes without saying that of course while doing all of these steps sometimes you have to go back to the basics. It’s tried and true for a reason. IT WORKS. My tip for everyone is to try and make the most out of your trip to the gym. Try to go knowing what you want your target areas to be, and what to work on for that particular trip to the gym. Find a regime or workout plan that fits best. By setting an intention for your workouts your able to not only beat the disorganized and sometimes idol time in the gym, it lets you reach your goals faster by setting real, uniformed, and measured results.
